Geely Auto Group Reports 270,194 Sales in August as Monthly Exports Exceed 100,000 for Third Consecutive Month

HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (0175.HK) reported total sales of 270,194 vehicles in August, marking its sixth consecutive month of both year-on-year and month-on-month growth. Sales increased by 8% both year on year and month on month. New energy vehicle sales reached 175,877 units, up 19% year on year and accounting for 65% of total sales during the month.

Zeekr delivered 36,981 vehicles during the month, up 110% year on year, as the brand continued to strengthen its position in the global premium electric vehicle market.

Lynk & Co recorded sales of 17,027 vehicles, while sales of its new energy models reached 15504 units, up 10%.

The Geely brand sold 216,186 vehicles in August, increasing 10% month on month, providing a stable foundation for the brand’s overall sales growth.

Geely Auto Group also continued to build momentum in international markets. Sales outside of China reached 110,094 vehicles in August, rising 205% year on year. This marked the eighth consecutive month of both year-on-year and month-on-month growth and the third consecutive month in which overseas sales exceeded 100,000 vehicles.

New energy vehicles continued to represent more than half of Geely Auto’s overseas sales, with August exports reaching 70,629 units, an increase of 446% from a year earlier and accounting for 64% of total overseas sales.

Zeekr ranked first among premium battery electric vehicle brands in Australia for the January-July period and also remained the leading premium BEV brand in Thailand over the same period. Lynk & Co ranked first among premium plug-in hybrid brands in Tunisia in July. The Geely brand was among the top-selling brand in Panama both for the January-July period and in July alone, while ranking among the top three battery electric vehicle brands in Ecuador in July.

Key models also continued to gain traction. During the first seven months of the year, the Zeekr 7X led Australia’s midsize premium SUV segment and remained the best-selling premium battery electric vehicle in Malaysia. The Zeekr 009 ranked first in the battery electric MPV segment in both Thailand and Malaysia and led the premium battery electric MPV segment in Singapore.

In July, the Lynk & Co 08 became the best-selling premium PHEV in Tunisia, while the Lynk & Co 900 ranked first in Egypt’s premium new energy vehicle market.

The Geely EX2 also continued to perform strongly across multiple markets, ranking first among electric vehicles in Thailand and battery electric vehicles in Jordan in July, while placing second in overall battery electric vehicle sales in Mexico. The Geely EX5 EM-i led the C-segment PHEV market in Poland, ranked first among C-segment SUVs and second among PHEVs in Spain, and topped the PHEV SUV segment in Mexico.

Reflecting its confidence in continued international growth, Geely Auto Group has raised its 2026 overseas sales target from 640,000 vehicles to 920,000 vehicles and will target annual overseas sales of one million units.
